Cruz Verde to stop dispensing medications to EPS Sanitas affiliates from October

Pharmacy chain Cruz Verde announced it will not renew its contract with EPS Sanitas for dispensing medications under the Health Benefits Plan, ending September 30, 2026. From October 1, affiliates will no longer be able to claim their medicines at the company's over 900 pharmacies. The decision was communicated six months in advance to allow an orderly transition.

Cruz Verde informed EPS Sanitas that it will not extend the medication dispensing contract, which expires on September 30, 2026. The company, present across Colombia, will maintain services until that date and provide support to the EPS and any new pharmacy managers it designates.

"Cruz Verde recognizes the importance of maintaining users' access to medications and other necessary products to ensure the effective enjoyment of their fundamental right to health," the company stated in its announcement. It added that the decision has been communicated to the relevant authorities.

Until October, Cruz Verde will ensure continuity in medication delivery as per the agreed terms. The chain, Colombia's leader, also handles wholesale distribution to over 300 clinics and hospitals, and manages in-hospital pharmacies in 37 major medical centers.

The move aims to enable an orderly transition for affiliates, preserving access to health services nationwide.
