A fire broke out at the Jakarta Theater building on Jalan MH Thamrin in Central Jakarta on Tuesday night, July 21, 2026.
Residents reported the incident via the Jakarta Siaga 112 emergency service around 9:18 p.m. local time. Personnel from the Central Jakarta Fire and Rescue Service arrived at the scene at 9:28 p.m. with one fire truck and four staff members.
The fire was contained by 9:30 p.m. Crews then conducted cooling operations until 9:50 p.m., when the operation was declared complete. The Jakarta Theater building is classified as a low-rise structure.
The suspected cause is an electrical issue. No deaths or injuries occurred, and the site was declared safe afterward.
