Prime Videoで製作中の『ゴッド・オブ・ウォー』実写化シリーズにおいて、6月下旬に撮影現場で深刻な怪我を負った主演ライアン・ハーストに代わり、クレイトス役のキャストが交代することになった。
この決定は、ソニー・ピクチャーズ・テレビジョンとAmazon MGMスタジオによる慎重な検討の末に行われた。肉体的に過酷な役柄のために40ポンド（約18キロ）の筋肉を増量していたハーストは、スタント撮影中に上腕二頭筋を断裂し、手術と4〜6ヶ月の回復期間が必要となった。
撮影は事故直後から中断されており、現在も休止状態が続いている。準備作業は8月中旬から開始される予定で、10月中旬からの撮影再開時には新キャストによる撮り直しも行われる見通しだ。
