Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung stated that the "Jakarta Running Festival" (JRF) 2025, attended by 27,300 runners from 48 countries, becomes the main destination for sport tourism in Southeast Asia. "'Jakarta Running Festival' is already well-known and I'm grateful because almost all hotels along the running route are fully booked," Pramono said in Jakarta on Sunday.
Pramono flagged off the participants and took part in the JRF 2025 event. This year, JRF is attended by 27,300 runners from 48 countries, an increase of about 70 percent compared to last year's edition. Pramono hopes JRF continues to serve as a benchmark for organizing global-standard running sports events in the region.
"We are committed to continuously improving safety standards, participant experience quality, and making Jakarta a runner-friendly city as well as a primary 'sport tourism' destination," he said.
On the second day of the JRF event, he participated in the 10-kilometer run category, with the start and finish line at the Istora Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) area, Senayan, Central Jakarta. He completed the 10K run in one hour thirty-two minutes, slightly less. "The atmosphere was very lively and exciting. Hopefully next year it can be even better," he said.
