Indonesia's Minister of Youth and Sports, Erick Thohir, said the Indonesia Sports Summit 2025 is a strategic moment to advance the national sports ecosystem. The event will gather sports stakeholders, government, and industry in December.
Erick Thohir emphasized the importance of collaboration in building an advanced, inclusive, and globally competitive sports ecosystem. "Indonesia Sports Summit 2025 menjadi wadah kolaborasi yang menjadi momentum penting untuk kita membangun ekosistem olahraga yang maju, inklusif, dan berdaya saing global," he said in Jakarta on Monday.
The event, scheduled for December, aims to bring together athletes, policymakers, investors, entertainers, and innovators through panel discussions, exhibition pavilions, partnerships, and job fairs. Thohir explained that the summit serves as a platform for sports actors, government, industry, and youth to build a sustainable and world-class national sports industry. "Dari lapangan, dari tribun, dari ruang strategi, semua untuk membangun Merah Putih dari sektor industri olahraga," he added.
Previously, Thohir met with Interior Minister Tito Karnavian and Deputy Minister of UMKM Helvi Moraza to discuss strengthening the national sports ecosystem as an economic growth driver. The three ministers agreed that Thohir would facilitate sports activities in regional assets and link them to the sports industry. Karnavian will encourage local governments to optimize assets for sports, while Moraza will involve UMKM business actors in sports events.
