According to DANE, monetary poverty in Neiva dropped from 36.7% in 2024 to 31.5% in 2025. Extreme poverty fell from 8.5% to 5.8% over the same period.

Nationally, the number of people in monetary poverty declined from 17.5 million in 2023 to 14.4 million in 2025. Extreme poverty decreased to 4.9 million people.

DANE director Piedad Urdinola stated that the increase in household incomes enabled this reduction. In Neiva, the poverty line stood at 590,023 pesos per capita.
