São Paulo Civil Police and the Public Ministry launched Operation Última Parada on Thursday, resulting in the arrest of councilor Senival Moura (PT) and other suspects linked to bus operator Transunião Transportes.
Investigations indicate that Senival Moura exercised de facto control over Transunião, using the company to move illicit funds linked to the PCC. Analyzed documents and telematic communications point to a R$ 15 million diversion and involvement of financial operators, based on a seized manuscript.
The operation also arrested Jair Ramos de Freitas, known as Cachorrão, and Devanil de Souza Nascimento, known as Sapo. The court ordered the seizure of R$ 194 million, 117 vehicles, 21 properties and three vessels.
Mayor Ricardo Nunes signed a decree for intervention at Transunião to ensure collective transport services. Senival Moura's defense stated that the councilor is innocent and received the arrest with indignation, trusting the justice system to prove the absence of illicit conduct.
