Over 70% of travel agencies project stable or higher sales for Easter week

The Colombian Association of Travel Agencies and Tourism (Anato) reported that over 70% of its agencies expect to maintain or increase sales for Easter week 2026, despite global challenges. The survey shows a strong preference for sun-and-beach destinations like Cartagena and San Andrés.

In Cali on March 27, 2026, Anato released its survey on sales expectations for Easter week 2026. Paula Cortés Calle, the executive president of Anato, stated that 36.3% of agencies expect to maintain sales compared to 2025, 35.4% project increases, and 28.3% anticipate declines.

"The analysis of our survey revealed that 36.3% of ANATO Travel Agencies expect to maintain their sales compared to Easter week 2025, while 35.4% project increases and 28.3% perceive there will be decreases. In detail, among those forecasting growth, 22.2% estimate increases above 20% and the same proportion between 1% and 10%", Cortés Calle explained.

Among agencies expecting drops, one in four projects declines over 10%. National sun-and-beach spots lead: Cartagena at 29.3%, San Andrés at 20.4%, and Santa Marta at 16.2%. The Coffee Axis follows at 11%, alongside Medellín, Bogotá, and Boyacá. Emerging areas like Amazonas, Guaviare, and the Pacific are gaining visibility.

Internationally, Punta Cana accounts for 25.3% and Cancún 20.5%. Florida sees strong demand, supplemented by Curazao, Panama, South America, and niche long-haul options like Japan, Korea, and Egypt.
