Patrik Allvin has been hired by the Seattle Kraken as vice president and assistant general manager. The move reunites him with general manager Jason Botterill. The announcement came on Thursday.
Allvin previously served as general manager of the Vancouver Canucks. He helped build a team that captured the Pacific Division title in the 2023-24 season and reached the second round of the Stanley Cup playoffs.
In his new position, Allvin will focus on professional scouting. He will work closely with Botterill, with whom he spent a decade at the Pittsburgh Penguins organization.
Botterill praised Allvin's communication skills and talent evaluation experience across multiple levels. Allvin cited the chance to collaborate again with Botterill and the strong resources at Kraken as key factors in his decision.
Seattle missed the playoffs in the most recent season. The club hopes Allvin's background, including three Stanley Cup wins from his time in Pittsburgh, will strengthen its push for postseason success.
