Tere Jiménez inaugurates second Continental plant in Aguascalientes

Aguascalientes Governor Tere Jiménez inaugurated the second ContiTech plant in the state with a 90 million dollar investment. The new facility will generate 200 jobs in its first phase and focus on producing industrial hydraulic hoses. The event strengthens economic ties between Aguascalientes and Germany.

The inauguration of ContiTech's second plant, a subsidiary of Continental, in Aguascalientes represents a milestone in the state's industrial development. Located in Parque Industrial Vesta, south of the capital city, the facility was built in just 12 months and features state-of-the-art machinery and a specialized laboratory. It focuses on manufacturing rubber and steel-based hydraulic hoses designed to transport fluids with varying pressure resistances.

Aguascalientes Governor Tere Jiménez highlighted the state's strategy to attract investments during the event: “Aguascalientes sigue adelante sin detenerse porque hemos sabido leer el entorno global con inteligencia y hemos actuado con estrategia; mientras en otros lados quizás se pregunten qué hacer, aquí ofrecemos lo que las inversiones necesitan: seguridad, reglas claras, certidumbre, estado de derecho y un gobierno moderno cercano y facilitador”. She added that Germany is the state's primary European commercial partner and one of its top three investors, with over 1,445 million dollars accumulated from 1999 to the second quarter of 2025, and 17 German companies currently operating.

Andreas Gerstenberg, director of Industrial Solutions, detailed the production specifications, while plant director Eduardo Barros praised local talent. Project director Ryan Gocher noted that the facility will double production to meet market demand.

Municipal President Leonardo Montañez Castro emphasized the city's commitment to efficient services and regulatory improvements: “Trabajamos bajo la filosofía de que el mejor gobierno es el que más ayuda”. Attendees included Mathias Reinsberg, ContiTech's global financial director; Jorge Armando Andrade Serafín, undersecretary of Investment and Development; and Salvador Alcalá Durán, president of the Economic Development Commission.
