Anton Grahn, Axel Burmansson and Martin Nordqvist have been named to Sweden's Olympic Committee Topp and Talang initiative. The cross-country and freeski athletes will receive support starting July 1, 2026, aimed at building toward the 2030 Olympics.
Sveriges Olympiska Kommitté announced the three athletes from Svenska Skidförbundet as new participants in its Topp and Talang program. The initiative provides financial aid and specialist resources in training, recovery, medicine and sports psychology.
Anton Grahn of IFK Mora SK reached the sprint semifinals at the recent Olympics and has posted repeated top results on the World Cup circuit. He said the program "means a great deal for my commitment and it will help me become a better skier."
Freeskiers Axel Burmansson of Sälens IF and Martin Nordqvist of Riksgränsen snowboard- och skidklubb also join the group. Nordqvist placed in the top 12 in big air at the Olympics. Burmansson, who missed the Games with a knee injury, described the selection as giving "extra energy" for his rehabilitation.
Längdchef Lars Öberg and freeski sportchef Stefan Karlsson both called the selections a sign that Swedish development work is producing athletes capable of competing at the highest international level.
