A woman lost her life in northern Chaco after being struck by lightning during an intense storm. The incident took place in a remote rural area near Miraflores. Health and police personnel confirmed her death with no vital signs inside her home.
The tragic incident occurred this Friday around midday in the Pozo del Toro area, about 65 kilometers from the urban center of Miraflores in northern Chaco province. Natalia González, an adult woman, was found lifeless inside her home after a nurse alerted the local police station.
An ambulance from the zonal hospital arrived at the scene, but medical staff confirmed the victim showed no vital signs. There were no indications of external violence, and the circumstances aligned with a direct lightning strike amid a severe storm that battered the region with persistent rains.
Access to the remote area was hindered by flooded dirt roads from the downpours. Chaco Police officers assisted in the procedure and supported the response. On-duty prosecutor Fabricio Calvo instructed the filing of judicial proceedings, documentation of the cause of death, and, if needed, forensic involvement for further examination of the body.
The investigation proceeds pending the final medical report, as ongoing climatic instability keeps several provincial localities on alert.
