Milton Andrés Jojoa Chávez, 18, died during an armed robbery on the road linking Pitalito to Acevedo in Huila. The incident involved three people in a vehicle stopped by criminals on motorcycles. Authorities have launched a search to capture those responsible.
The incident took place on the night of March 4, 2026, in the Buenavista vereda, as Milton Andrés Jojoa Chávez traveled with two companions in a vehicle along the route between Pitalito and Acevedo municipality. Four men on two motorcycles blocked their path and fired indiscriminately to rob them of money they were carrying.
Lieutenant Colonel Heguel García, commander of the Huila Police Department, confirmed preliminary details: “According to preliminary information, these individuals intercepted three citizens and, without a word, attacked them with firearms in order to rob them of a sum of money they were transporting.”
After the assault, the robbers fled with the money in an unknown direction. Passersby assisted the victims and notified authorities, enabling their transfer to a medical center. The officer added, “As a result of this incident, the three victims were taken to a medical center, where one entered with serious wounds that later caused his death, while the other two remain under medical observation and, according to the doctors' report, do not have serious conditions.”
Police launched a major operation with intelligence units and a roadblock plan to locate the perpetrators. The institution called on the community to provide information to clarify the case and capture the killers. This event highlights security risks on rural roads in Huila.
