President of DF aquatic federation resigns after unpaid hotel bill
Victor Gonçalves, president of the Distrito Federal Aquatic Sports Federation (FDA-DF), resigned on October 27, 2024, citing health reasons, after the entity was sued by a São Paulo hotel for a R$21,000 debt. The unpaid amount covers lodging and meals for 31 people at the Troféu Chico Piscina event in October. Parents of athletes reported payment irregularities and filed a police report.
Police vehicle overturns during suspect pursuit in Samambaia
A police vehicle from the Federal District Military Police overturned on the night of October 29 while pursuing a suspect in Samambaia. The four officers on board were unharmed, but the man who fired shots at the vehicle was not located. Images captured show the moments right after the accident.
