One month before the first round of municipal elections in Laval, incumbent divers gauche mayor Florian Bercault faces mainly Samia Soultani-Vigneron, the right and center candidate, and a Lutte ouvrière list. Lists from the insoumis and Rassemblement national are still awaited. Bercault, elected in 2020 at age 30, enjoys broad left-wing support.
