38-year-old man crashes truck into plaza in Apodaca and is detained

A 38-year-old driver rammed a Ford F-150 truck into Plaza Sendero La Fe in Apodaca, Nuevo León, causing damage and triggering a police chase on Saturday morning.

The events unfolded when Mario ‘N’ drove the red truck with Durango plates into the shopping center on Miguel Alemán Avenue. The vehicle damaged the facade, glass panels, benches and other fixtures before the driver tried to flee via the south exit.

Municipal guards and police began the pursuit. Officers fired at the tires to stop him and blocked the vehicle with a patrol unit at the rear of the plaza. The driver rammed the official unit but was subdued.

A replica firearm was found in the vehicle during the arrest. Two police officers suffered minor injuries and a woman received treatment for a nervous crisis. Authorities have kept investigations open to determine the motive.
