A clean water project built in Adama city at a cost of 6.2 billion birr has been inaugurated and opened for service. The project will benefit more than 1.1 million residents.
The Ministry of Water and Energy built the project in cooperation with the Oromia Region and Adama City Administration. The project includes 15 new groundwater sources.
It also features 10 large water reservoirs, 245 main distribution lines and a five-story administration office building. Saada Abdurehman, Speaker of the Oromia Caffee, said the project will sustainably address water supply questions.
Ambassador Asfaw Dingamo, State Minister of Water and Energy, stated that the government will continue building similar projects in all cities of the country. Dr. Milion Bekele, head of the Oromia Water and Energy Bureau, explained that the project uses modern equipment.
