Manuel Adorni, Cabinet Chief, defended his management before Argentina's Congress and ruled out resigning. Deputy Rodolfo Tailhade accused his wife Bettina Angeletti of funding luxury trips for friends using official custody. The Government confirmed it will file a complaint against Tailhade for illegal espionage on Monday.
During his presentation in Congress on April 30, 2026, Manuel Adorni faced opposition questioning, particularly from deputy Rodolfo Tailhade. Tailhade claimed Bettina Angeletti, Adorni's wife, traveled first class to Madrid in September 2025 with five school friends, covering their tickets and stay. He also alleged Angeletti uses six Federal Police officers and an official car for nightlife outings, like to a Palermo bar until 4 a.m.
Adorni replied in the chamber: “No se me pasa por alto que un diputado acaba de detallar el itinerario diario de mi mujer con un nivel de detalle sospechoso y con información que, en caso de que fuera cierta, sería de dudosa procedencia”. He suggested the statements bordered on a threat and vowed to eradicate kirchnerismo. He ruled out resigning despite the attacks.
Adorni's circle denied the claims: “Fake todo. Viajó, pero no pagó ella”. Casa Rosada confirmed to Perfil they will file the complaint against Tailhade on Monday, May 4. Tailhade retorted: “Espero con ansias que me haga la denuncia [...] voy a poder ir a demostrar todo lo que dije”.
Sociologist Diego Raus assessed the exposure as defensive, with no clear winners. He noted the Government minimized damage but faces a fragile scenario due to Adorni's ongoing wear and economic issues.
