A 17-year-old boy in Daphne, Alabama, faces murder and attempted murder charges after allegedly stabbing his parents during a family argument. His mother died at the scene and his father was seriously injured.
Deputies with the Baldwin County Sheriff's Office responded just before 9 p.m. on July 5 to a home on Augustine Drive. They found Samantha Baker, 37, dead from stab wounds and her husband Lance Baker, 46, injured. He was airlifted to a hospital.
The boy, who has not been named, is accused of attacking during an argument over discipline. He allegedly stabbed his mother then chased his father into a neighboring yard. The teen later locked himself in his bedroom and called 911.
He is held in jail on a $1 million bond and charged as an adult. Both parents had military backgrounds, with Lance Baker serving as a battalion commander in the U.S. Army Reserve.
