Former Caifanes member Alejandro Marcovich suffered a stroke on May 19 and remains in intensive care in a coma with a reserved prognosis.
The musician's family, led by his wife Gabriela Martínez and children Béla and Diego Marcovich Martínez, issued a statement on May 22 to report the incident. The guitarist was rushed to the hospital that night and is receiving specialist care.
Gabriel Siqueiros Rosales, a member of Los Amantes de Lola, denied rumors of his death that circulated on social media during a live broadcast. “Alejandro is indeed delicate, but he is alive,” he said, and asked people to focus on his recovery.
The family canceled all his concerts and commitments until further notice. Marcovich remains accompanied by his loved ones while he continues hospitalized.
