Mexico's Secretariat of Welfare announced the bimonthly payment schedule for the Bienestar Pension and Mujeres Bienestar Pension, starting May 4, 2026, with surnames beginning with A. New secretary Leticia Ramírez outlined an investment of over 104 billion pesos for 32 million beneficiaries. Deposits are made directly into Bienestar Cards.
Leticia Ramírez, Welfare Secretary, explained during President Claudia Sheinbaum's morning briefing that the disbursement of 104.7 billion pesos begins Monday, May 4, with beneficiaries whose paternal surnames start with A. “There are 32 million rights-holders. For May and June, the programs under the Secretariat of Welfare are distributed in the following programs you know: Older Adults, Mujeres Bienestar, People with Disabilities, Working Mothers, and Sembrando Vida,” Ramírez stated.
The schedule organizes payments by the first letter of the paternal surname from May 4 to 8, with no weekend deposits. Larger groups like C get two days. The Bienestar Pension provides 6,400 pesos bimonthly, up 200 pesos from 2025, while the Mujeres Bienestar Pension gives 3,100 pesos to women aged 60-64, created by Sheinbaum to recognize family caregiving.
After this bimestre, three payments remain in 2026: July-August, September-October, and November-December, totaling 19,200 pesos annually. With no federal elections, deposits won't be advanced due to electoral blackout. The secretariat urges withdrawals at Banco del Bienestar branches to avoid fees, found via directoriodesucursales.bancodelbienestar.gob.mx, and warns against intermediaries.
