Mexico to open welfare pension registration from June 22 to 28

The Mexican government announced it will reopen registration for the Pensión del Bienestar and Pensión Mujeres Bienestar from June 22 to 28. Secretary Leticia Ramírez shared the details during the June 1 morning press conference.

Leticia Ramírez explained that registrations will take place at Secretaría del Bienestar modules from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Adults turning 65 in June and Mexican women aged 60 to 64 may sign up during that window.

As of May, the roster of social program beneficiaries exceeds 18.8 million people. Ramírez noted that “los programas de Bienestar van más allá de números” and stressed their effect on recipients’ lives.

Those who registered in April will receive their cards from June 15 to 21. The first payment for new beneficiaries will cover the July-August period. The Pensión del Bienestar provides 6,400 pesos every two months, while the Pensión Mujeres Bienestar gives 3,100 pesos to women aged 60 to 64.
