BMW halts F450 GS orders in India amid high demand

Reports indicate that BMW has stopped accepting new orders for its F450 GS motorcycle in India due to strong demand. The first production run sold out quickly after pricing in April.

Dealers in cities including Mumbai and Bengaluru have reported waiting periods of up to a year, with other major cities seeing delays of six to eight months. The bike was priced at the equivalent of about $4,985, and deliveries of the second production run in India are expected around August or September.

BMW has not issued an official statement on the order halt. Some reports suggest the company is prioritizing shipments of the TVS-built machines to European markets, where prices reach the equivalent of about $9,170.

The impact on the planned US launch, scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2026 or early 2027, remains unclear. Customers who booked between November and December 2025 may still receive their bikes soon.
