Cabinet orders mandatory migration to new payroll system

The Cabinet has directed all ministries, departments, agencies and state corporations to immediately migrate to the revamped Integrated Human Resource and Payroll System.

The directive followed a Cabinet meeting chaired by President William Ruto at State House, Nairobi on Tuesday, June 30, 2026.

A Cabinet dispatch said the reforms include a government-wide audit, payroll data cleansing, enhanced cybersecurity and establishment of a disaster recovery site.

Public Service Cabinet Secretary Geoffrey Ruku had in May 2026 given human resource managers a two-month deadline to complete the onboarding process.
