Caiado defends center-right unity in talks with Zema

Presidential pre-candidate Ronaldo Caiado said on Saturday that he is negotiating with Romeu Zema to prevent the fragmentation of the center-right in the 2026 elections.

During an event in Rio Grande do Sul, Caiado stated that the main focus is to defeat the PT and beat Lula in the second round.

“It is logical that we are talking, but seeking at this first moment that there is no fragmentation of the center-right,” said the former governor of Goiás.

He left open a possible alliance before the first round or alignment in the second. The PSD is also considering a pure ticket with Gilberto Kassab as running mate.
