Explicit AI will enable agentic workflows, such as automated troubleshooting, document creation, and fleet maintenance, as opt-in options. Seager highlighted inference snaps as the delivery method, allowing simple installations with hardware-optimized, sandboxed models that prevent access to user files. This setup avoids reliance on cloud APIs, which typically log prompts and charge per token, positioning cloud services only as a fallback. Canonical's strategy contrasts with cloud-first approaches from other tech firms, keeping advanced features optional and local by default.
