CBI registers FIR in Twisha Sharma death case

The CBI took over the Twisha Sharma death case from Bhopal Police on May 25, 2026, re-registering the FIR from Katara Hills station. The Supreme Court assured a fair and impartial investigation.

A Supreme Court bench comprising Chief Justice Surya Kant and Justice Joymalya Bagchi directed a fair investigation during Monday's hearing. Solicitor General Tushar Mehta informed the court about the CBI's move.

The Madhya Pradesh High Court on Monday granted two days to retired judge Giribala Singh to file her reply. Bhopal Police Commissioner Sanjay Kumar ruled out allegations of CCTV footage tampering.
