Following its GameSpot Game of the Year win and record nominations, Sandfall Interactive's Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 dominated The Game Awards 2025 on December 11, securing nine victories including Game of the Year. Developer Sandfall Interactive celebrated by releasing the major Thank You Update immediately after the ceremony.
Record-Breaking Award Sweep
Building on its recent GameSpot Game of the Year accolade and 13 nominations, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 set a new record at The Game Awards 2025 with nine wins—the most by any game in a single year, surpassing The Last of Us Part II's seven in 2020. Honors included Game of the Year, Best Narrative, Best Score and Music (by Lorien Testard), Best Art Direction, Best Game Direction, Best RPG, Best Independent Game, Best Debut Indie Game, and Best Performance for Jennifer English as Maelle.
