CNE reports historic witness coverage for presidential runoff

The National Electoral Council closed its accreditation platform on Friday with more than 266,700 electoral witnesses and coverage above 96 percent of polling stations.

Coverage reached 96.6 percent of polling stations across Colombia. The Pacto Histórico campaign accredited 139,530 witnesses and Defensores de la Patria accredited 127,234.

José Antonio Parra, director of Electoral Surveillance and Inspection at the CNE, said the figure represents a 30.9 percent increase compared with the 2022 runoff. Political groups may accredit up to two witnesses per table and per scrutiny commission in 35,747 tables.
