American Bridge 21st Century, a Democratic-aligned super PAC known for opposition research, has introduced a public website it says is designed to help campaigns and the public navigate its research on Republican candidates ahead of the 2026 midterm elections.

American Bridge 21st Century, a Democratic-aligned super PAC focused on opposition research, has launched a public platform it calls Research Books that it says will publish and organize its opposition research on Republican candidates ahead of the 2026 midterms.

According to POLITICO, the website is intended to make the group’s material easier to search and use by campaigns, influencers and voters in a media environment where political information often circulates through podcasts, social platforms and private messaging.

The group says the platform includes candidate profiles that compile items such as key votes, research memos, video from trackers and other materials formatted for political communications. POLITICO reports the site also includes an AI-powered search feature that draws on American Bridge’s internal repository of reporting and records and returns results that link back to source material.

In comments to POLITICO, American Bridge President Pat Dennis said the group is trying to make opposition research more accessible to the places where persuadable voters encounter political information. “Swing voters are generally speaking getting their information very ambiently,” Dennis said, adding, “If people can’t find it or read it, it’s no good.”

The effort follows earlier attempts by American Bridge to make research available publicly. In 2020, the group released a “Trump Research Book” online, describing it as a free, publicly accessible research hub on then-President Donald Trump.

For the initial rollout of Research Books, POLITICO reports the platform covers a set of House, Senate and state-level contests the group views as competitive, and that American Bridge plans to expand the number of candidates and races as the midterm cycle develops.

The Independent Center, a nonprofit focused on independent voters, is using artificial intelligence to identify congressional districts where independent candidates might compete in the 2026 elections. The group aims to elect a small number of independents to the House of Representatives as a way to challenge the dominance of the two major parties.

Outside groups tied to the pro-Israel organization AIPAC have spent millions on advertising and voter outreach in multiple Illinois Democratic House primaries, including the crowded contest to succeed retiring Rep. Jan Schakowsky. The spending—often routed through newly created super PACs with neutral-sounding names—has intensified intraparty arguments over Israel and the role of big money in Democratic primaries.

A group of Senate Democrats has introduced the 'ICE Out of Our Faces Act,' aiming to prohibit Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Customs and Border Protection (CBP) from using facial recognition and other biometric surveillance technologies. The legislation would require deletion of past data and allow individuals to sue for violations. Introduced on February 5, 2026, the bill faces slim chances in a Republican-majority Congress.

Across the United States, Republican and Democratic lawmakers are aligning to regulate artificial intelligence and the energy-intensive data centers that power it, driven by concerns over electricity costs and resource use. President Trump has joined the push by urging tech companies to build their own power plants. This unusual cooperation contrasts with federal gridlock and reflects voter frustrations ahead of midterms.

Democrats captured governorships in Virginia and New Jersey, won New York City’s mayoralty, and passed a California redistricting measure on November 4, 2025 — gains analysts linked to affordability-focused campaigns paired with contrasts to President Donald Trump’s agenda.

Democrats won key races across the country on Tuesday, including the New York City mayoral election where socialist Zohran Mamdani triumphed. Governors' races in New Jersey and Virginia also went to Democrats Mikie Sherrill and Abigail Spanberger, respectively, amid voter concerns over economic affordability. These results signal a rejection of President Trump's policies and set high expectations for the 2026 midterms.
