Addis Ababa, March 19, 2026 (Fana) - Deputy Prime Minister Temesgen Tiruneh praised the preparatory works and current stage of the national exam administration in a social media message. He held discussions with regional leaders, city administrators, education sector officials, and experts on expanding Ethiopia's National Digital Exam Administration System and first-cycle schools. The commitment includes fully transitioning 12th grade national exams to online with a secure, fair, and impartial system. This effort aligns with the Digital Ethiopia 2030 strategy goal of establishing a secure, digitally-enabled education and exam system. It aims to equip students to compete in the coming era. Across all regions and two city administrations, 1,452 first-cycle schools have been prepared to commence operations by next Nehasse month. Textbooks for grades 1 through 6 have been ordered to be printed and distributed to schools by next Meskerem month.
