Dompet Dhuafa Yogyakarta sent one truck of humanitarian aid to disaster survivors in North Sumatra and Aceh on January 2, 2026, continuing the 'Ngamen untuk Sumatera' campaign launched with Yogyakarta artists like Ndarboy Genk via a December fundraising event.
On January 2, 2026, Dompet Dhuafa Yogyakarta dispatched a truckload of aid from their office courtyard to survivors in North Sumatra and Aceh through the organization's Disaster Management Center (DMC). The shipment, part of the ongoing 'Ngamen untuk Sumatera' solidarity drive, includes staple foods, women and hygiene kits, children kits, new clothes, groceries, and kitchen equipment.
The event was attended by Raden Mas Gusthilantika Marrel Suryokusumo from the Kesultanan Ngayogyakarta Hadiningrat, Branch Leader Muhammad Zahron, and Ndarboy Genk representatives. It builds on the campaign's December 17, 2025, launch—a music fundraising event on Jalan Malioboro organized by Ndarboy Genk and artists, which partnered with Dompet Dhuafa and collected significant donations. To date, Dompet Dhuafa and 15 branches have sent 11 trucks (75 tons) of aid, benefiting 101,095 people across three provinces.
Marrel Suryokusumo stressed sustainable aid delivery, saying, "May the aid from Yogyakarta's community reach survivors effectively, and may recovery in Sumatra and Aceh improve soon." Ndarboy Genk's Daru highlighted artists' concern: "Ngamen untuk Sumatra shows our care for disaster impacts; we hope this addresses survivors' needs." Zahron thanked donors from various sectors.
The dispatch was witnessed by partners, media, and donors. Broader recovery in Aceh includes PLN restoring power to 176 villages, Pertamina's health post in Pidie Jaya, Telkomsel's connectivity boosts, and President Prabowo's reconstruction briefing.
