EACC summons 35 Narok MCAs over Assembly floor fight

The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission has summoned 35 members of the Narok County Assembly following a physical altercation during a May 19 sitting. Speaker Davis Solian Dikirr and Clerk Joseph Kasaine Lengeny were due to give statements on June 4.

The EACC has commenced investigations into allegations of unethical conduct involving Members of the County Assembly of Narok who allegedly engaged in fighting on the floor of the House on 19th May 2026, stated a source close to the investigations. Official letters dated June 2 show that the remaining MCAs must appear for interviews beginning June 8 at the commission’s headquarters in Nairobi. The altercation occurred during a session considering an impeachment motion against Finance County Executive Committee Member David Ole Muntet. Tensions rose over proposed leadership changes, leading security officers to escort the Speaker from the chamber. Lawmakers supporting the motion have called for an audit of county expenditure by the Office of the Auditor-General.
