Addis Ababa, Miyazya 10, 2018 (EFM SI) – Following the formation of the national steering committee chaired by Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (Dr.) late last year—with Foreign Minister Dr. Gedion Timothewos appointed as representative president—the Prime Minister has now reviewed the committee's ongoing works for the International Civil Aviation Organization's 32nd Assembly (COP32).

PM Office spokesperson and Cabinet Affairs Minister Alemtsihay Pawlos stated in a briefing that preparations aim to host COP32 sustainably and without traffic jams, leveraging world-class infrastructure. Efforts cover core developments, logistics, and operational experience to address key issues. "The goal is a secure, efficient, and successful conference that generates sustainable infrastructures for future works," he said.

Ethio Telecom CEO Frehiwot Tamru highlighted COP32 as a chance for Ethiopia to share its green energy and advanced digital technologies. The company will provide robust, reliable, and secure services, including telecom, power supply, water, and sewer systems integrated with AI. Preparations also prioritize cybersecurity and seamless operations for delegations.
