Fontainebleau fires stabilize with reduced firefighter numbers

The situation is stabilizing in the Fontainebleau forest, allowing a reduction in deployed resources.

On Sunday, around 500 firefighters will be mobilized on the ground, down from 850 to 1,000 at the end of the week. Aerial resources will no longer be engaged.

Commandant Sylvain Wdowil stated that the overall deployment is beginning to be scaled back. On Saturday, 650 firefighters handled several reactivations of hot spots.

The fires, which started on Sunday and Monday, burned approximately 2,200 hectares. A section of the A6 remained closed until Thursday evening.
