The Argentine government dismissed Carlos Frugoni, secretary of Infrastructure Coordination in the Economy ministry, after he admitted failing to report seven properties in Miami to ARCA and the Anti-Corruption Office. Separately, the Administrative Investigations Prosecutor's Office requested the questioning of ARCA's head for hiding assets worth over US$2 million in the city.
The government removed Carlos Frugoni from his position as secretary of Infrastructure Coordination. Frugoni acknowledged that he failed to declare seven properties in Miami to both ARCA and the Anti-Corruption Office.
This action comes amid scrutiny of public officials' assets. As a senior Economy ministry official, Frugoni now faces the fallout from his omission.
In a related development, the Administrative Investigations Prosecutor's Office requested the questioning of ARCA's head. The official is accused of concealing Miami properties worth more than US$2 million. Federal judge Marcelo Martínez de Giorgi will decide on the request.
