Presidency's general secretary Karina Milei led a meeting on Tuesday at Casa Rosada with governors Rogelio Frigerio of Entre Ríos and Alfredo Cornejo of Mendoza. The gathering confirmed a decree allowing provinces to promote private investments for works on sections of national routes within their territories. Interior Minister Diego Santilli and Subsecretary Eduardo “Lule” Menem also attended.
The meeting took place on April 14 at Casa Rosada, without Cabinet Chief Manuel Adorni, who accompanied President Javier Milei at the Amcham Summit. An official communiqué stated that it addressed the joint agenda between the nation and provinces, advancing the decree to boost road infrastructure with private financing.
Governors Frigerio and Cornejo praised the coordinated work with the national Executive and reaffirmed their provinces' support for the government's direction. "The national government will proceed with signing a decree allowing some provinces to promote private investments," officials reported.
The announcement comes amid tensions over halted public works, a key opposition demand. On the same day, peronist mayors rallied with support from Buenos Aires Governor Axel Kicillof to demand the reactivation of infrastructure projects, paused due to budget constraints and prior corruption allegations.
