Harley-Davidson to return Pan America production to USA

Harley-Davidson is bringing production of its Revolution Max platform, including the Pan America adventure bike, back to the United States from Thailand. The move affects models such as the Pan America, Sportster S and Nightster. It forms part of the company's Back to the Bricks strategy and is scheduled for completion ahead of 2028 model production.

The company announced that machining, powertrain assembly, painting and final vehicle assembly will return to facilities in Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. This shift supports dozens of additional American manufacturing and union jobs. Production of the models had moved overseas in 2024 after years of being built at the York, Pennsylvania factory. Harley-Davidson expects to manufacture more than 100,000 bikes at the York plant in 2027. Vice President Bill Davidson said the decision reflects commitment to American manufacturing and the values that have made the brand iconic. The transition is expected to finish before 2028 model builds begin in 2027. The announcement cited changes in U.S. trade policy under the Trump administration as creating new opportunities for domestic investment.
