José Luis Ammaturo warns metallurgical activity has not recovered

The secretary general of CAMIMA warned of an interannual drop exceeding 4% in Argentina's metallurgical industry and a 2.3% employment reduction. The UIA also anticipates a 1.8% decline in June.

José Luis Ammaturo, secretary general of the Cámara de la Pequeña y Mediana Industria Metalúrgica, noted that metallurgical activity has not recovered despite momentum in mining and energy.

He stated that the interannual drop exceeds 4% and employment shows a 2.3% interannual decline. Ammaturo explained that SMEs avoid cutting staff until the last resort.

The Unión Industrial Argentina anticipates a new 1.8% industry decline in June, with construction and steel in retreat. Some segments linked to agribusiness and energy show better performance.
