Kogi government rescues four kidnapped during NECO exams

The Kogi State Government announced the rescue of four people kidnapped in an attack on an examination centre in Olowa, Dekina Local Government Area.

Kogi State officials confirmed the safe recovery of the school principal, a NECO official and two students. The victims were abducted during recent NECO exams and held in a forest before their release.

Governor Ahmed Ododo ordered the operation immediately after the incident. Commander Jerry Omodara coordinated the joint effort with the Nigerian Army, DSS, police and local vigilantes.

Commissioner Kingsley Fanwo stated that sustained pressure forced the kidnappers to abandon the victims. The group was rescued this evening and is receiving medical checks.

Fanwo thanked President Bola Tinubu for directing federal support. Security forces continue operations in the area to apprehend the perpetrators.
