The Kenya Ports Authority announced that a ship carrying Jet A1 fuel is expected to arrive at the Port of Mombasa on July 9. This comes seven days ahead of the next EPRA monthly fuel price review.
The Kenya Ports Authority stated on July 7 that a total of 48 cargo vessels will call at the Ports of Mombasa and Lamu over the next 14 days. Among them is the vessel Torm Damini, which is scheduled to dock at Mombasa carrying Jet A1 aviation fuel.
KPA noted that the Port of Mombasa will handle 43 of the ships, including 24 container vessels, 10 conventional cargo vessels, seven car carriers and two oil tankers. The Port of Lamu is set to receive five container vessels and two car carriers.
In the most recent EPRA review, Jet A1 fuel rose by Ksh38 to retail at Ksh191.38. The authority also listed other incoming cargoes such as fertiliser, palm oil, bagged rice, bulk wheat, iron ore, clinker, coal and steel coils.
