Radovan Krejcir’s application challenging delays in his court matters and alleged human rights violations in prison has been postponed to 16 September.
The application was partly heard at the Specialised Commercial Crimes Court in Palm Ridge. It relates to a 2013 fraud and money laundering case.
Krejcir, who is serving a 35-year sentence at Kgosi Mampuru Correctional Centre in Pretoria, argued that the Department of Correctional Services violated his constitutional rights. He said he was deprived of chronic medication and meals meeting his dietary needs despite expert reports.
The Czech fugitive told the court that these issues contributed to repeated delays in his matters. He began arguing the Section 342A application despite not feeling well.
