Margo Price has surprise released a protest mixtape titled Days of Unrest for the July 4 weekend. The album features covers of protest songs along with some originals and includes a guest appearance by Joan Baez.

Margo Price surprise released the mixtape Days of Unrest, produced by Matt Ross-Spang. It contains covers such as Woody Guthrie’s “Deportee (Plane Wreck at Los Gatos)” now featuring Joan Baez and Memphis Mariachi, Bob Dylan’s “Maggie’s Farm,” Charlie Daniels’ “Long Haired Country Girl” with Billy Swan, and Blaze Foley’s “Oval Room.”

Price said in a press release that she has sung “Deportee” for decades and called working with Baez surreal. She added that covering the tracks serves as her form of protest and noted plans to march at the Capitol with Representatives Justin Jones and Pearson.

The release also includes originals like “Can’t Stand Still” and the “San Marcos” suite. A portion of vinyl proceeds will support the Florence Immigrant & Refugee Rights Project.
