Martin Scorsese has added Welker White to the cast of his upcoming Apple Studios film 'What Happens at Night'. White, a frequent collaborator with Scorsese, joins leads Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence.
Apple Studios' 'What Happens at Night', directed by Martin Scorsese, has cast Welker White in a supporting role. The film rounds out its ensemble with this addition, following collaborations between White and Scorsese on 'GoodFellas', 'The Wolf of Wall Street', 'The Irishman', and 'Killers of the Flower Moon'—the latter earning Academy Award nominations and marking Scorsese's prior Apple project. Details on White's character remain under wraps. The cast is led by Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence, with Patricia Clarkson, Mads Mikkelsen, and Jared Harris also starring. Adapted from Peter Cameron's novel, the story centers on a married American couple traveling to a small, snowy European town to adopt a baby. Scorsese directs and produces through Sikelia Productions, alongside DiCaprio, Lawrence, and Daniel Lupi. Executive producers include Lisa Frechette and Marianne Bower for Sikelia, Jennifer Davisson for Appian Way, and Justine Ciarrocchi for Excellent Cadaver. StudioCanal, partnering on the project, announced it in 2023 after acquiring book rights; their executives are Anna Marsh, Shana Eddy Grouf, and Aaron Ensweiler. White, known for roles in 'Dead Poets Society', Nora Ephron’s 'This Is My Life', HBO’s 'Bad Education', and 'The 40-Year-Old Version', will next appear in Jonah Hill’s Apple film 'Outcome' opposite Keanu Reeves. She is represented by Boals, Winnett & Associates.
