Pittsburgh Steelers receiver Roman Wilson enters training camp on the roster bubble according to radio analyst Max Starks. The second-year wideout must secure a spot amid competition for the slot role.
Starks made the comments during an appearance on The SiriusXM Blitz. He described the upcoming camp as a make-or-break period for Wilson.
"This is kind of a make-or-break year for Roman Wilson," Starks said. "Break out, or just breaking and cracking the 53, I think, either way for Roman Wilson, has to be at the top of the priority list for him to figure out if truly he is going to be a Steeler."
NFL Media analyst Rhett Lewis offered a more optimistic view. He predicted Wilson could still show untapped potential if given more opportunities this season.
Wilson will compete with second-round pick Germie Bernard for the slot receiver position. The team also has rookies Kaden Wetjen and Eli Heidenreich in the mix as training camp approaches.
