Mayor Miguel Concha announced an intervention to remove murals linked to violent groups on Avenida Grecia and at Colegio Mariano Egaña.
The municipal leader explained that the measure aims to recover public spaces taken over by Barras Bravas on one of the commune's main axes. The action focuses on removing graffiti and murals from the Avenida Grecia bus corridor and the walls of Colegio Mariano Egaña.
Concha stated that the plan is not against football but against territorial control and violence exercised by these groups. He mentioned issues such as bus takeovers, street blockades, and armed confrontations in sectors like Lo Hermida and La Faena.
The intervention is the first step of a broader strategy to raise the urban standard of Avenida Grecia, according to the mayor. He compared the stretch between Vespucio and Tobalaba with better-quality areas in Ñuñoa and Peñalolén Alto.
