Mike Helber expressed surprise after being passed over for the chairman role at Linköping HC. The club's nomination committee instead proposed Lisa Agerhult for the position.
Helber, a former LHC player, shared his reaction in a Facebook post. He stated that he had been informed he was viewed as too involved in daily operations to serve effectively as board chairman.
Helber noted he met with around ten key figures at the club during the spring to evaluate its sporting and financial status. He indicated that the club's chief executive, Carl-Johan Stålhammar, did not fully value the effort.
In the post, Helber stressed the need to support all parts of the organization, including women's and junior teams. He wrote that his belief is that LHC should rank among Sweden's top hockey clubs over time.
The club's annual meeting is scheduled for August 4. Helber said he is considering whether to challenge the nomination but will decide step by step.
