New detailed plans adopted for Gottsunda

Uppsala municipality has adopted three new detailed plans enabling housing, a new swimming hall and additional meeting places in Gottsunda.

The municipal council decided during spring to adopt the plans for Gottsunda stadsstråk etapp 2 and Gottsunda Östra. These complement the previously adopted etapp 1 and provide conditions for new housing, including row houses, as well as services and retail.

The plans cover development of Gottsunda allé and Hugo Alfvéns väg into a tree-lined urban street with tramway. A new square and swimming hall are planned at the intersection with Musikvägen and Valthornsvägen.

The swimming hall will replace the existing one and include a 25-metre pool, teaching pool and children's pool. Next steps are land allocations and preparations for construction starts.
