New language requirements law enters into force on 1 July

From 1 July the government's new language requirements apply to municipalities and private operators under the Tidö Agreement.

Qamar Haidar learned Swedish on her own and with help from friends because she received no language support from her job.

The municipality is now preparing to meet the new requirements which mean an obligation to ensure staff have the right language skills.

The law comes from the Tidö Agreement and enters into force on 1 July.
