Nike unveiled a new Flyknit version of its Mind 002 sneaker during the first episode of SNKRS Verified. The shoe features cushy Flyknit uppers and straps over the brand's Mind tech soles. It appears in an unreleased Barely Volt colorway expected to release on Nike's website later this year.
The Nike Mind 002 Flyknit draws inspiration from ISPA designs, with some ISPA designers contributing to its development. It incorporates chunky soles equipped with Nike's science-backed Mind technology, which sends signals to the brain to enhance focus and provide comfort. The soles also move up and down during wear, stimulating both the brain and feet. Nike describes the Mind 001 as a slip-on clog and the Mind 002 as its laced-up counterpart, both popular for their performance features. This Flyknit iteration resembles past models like the Flyknit Bloom sneakers from the Spring 2024 collection. The Barely Volt colorway marks Nike's first in-line release of the Mind 002 Flyknit, following a March collaboration with Hiroshi Fujiwara's Fragment brand. That limited edition swapped the model's neoprene upper for Flyknit, creating a summer-ready design as part of the Fragment Concept Testing project. Nike now plans to offer a general release to a wider audience. The original Mind 001 and Mind 002 launches in January sold out instantly, with restocks following the same rapid pace.
